ANN ARBOR, MICH -- The No. 8-ranked University of Michigan ice hockey team (11-3-3, 2-1-1-1 Big Ten) heads into the second half of the season with plenty of momentum coming off its 2015 Great Lakes Invitational title and will return to Big Ten play with a home-and-home series against Michigan State (5-13-2, 1-3-0-0), beginning Friday night (Jan. 8, 6:30 p.m.) at Munn Ice Arena.
• Michigan is 152-130-19 all-time against Michigan State, with a 46-64-9 record at Munn Ice Arena. The Wolverines will play the Spartans at Munn for the first time this season, Michigan's first road Big Ten contest.
