Michigan, which was idle this week, maintained its No. 5 ranking in the Amway coaches’ poll, released Sunday.
Michigan is tied with Georgia as both received 1,295 points.
The top six teams are No. 1 Alabama, followed by Clemson, Notre Dame, LSU, and then Michigan and Georgia.
Michigan State, which defeated Purdue 23-13, earned 48 points but is still outside the top 25.
The Wolverines (7-1 overall, 5-0 Big Ten) return to action this Saturday with a 3:45 p.m. home game against Penn State.
The Spartans (5-3, 3-2) travel to Maryland for a noon game this Saturday.
