In a very sloppy second-half effort, the Michigan Wolverines held off a Minnesota team that just wouldn’t go away. The AP Poll voters didn’t punish the Wolverines at all for their narrow victory, as they jumped two spots to No. 10 in the latest edition of the rankings.
Michigan’s rise was due primarily to two shocking upsets: Ole Miss lost at home to Kentucky, and Utah lost at home to Arizona. The Rebels dropped from No. 6 to No. 12 while the Utes dropped from No. 10 to No. 18.
In a common theme this season, Michigan’s past and future opponents litter the top-25.
