Michigan QB Shea Patterson responds to Ole Miss' objection in new report

Shea Patterson says he was lied to by former University of Mississippi coach Hugh Freeze and school officials for more than 20 months, a claim he hopes earns him immediate eligibility in 2018.

CBS Sports outlined a nine-page letter of appeal Patterson sent the NCAA on April 9, a response to Ole Miss' objection over the Michigan quarterback being allowed to play in the fall.

"It doesn't seem fair to me that the only thing standing in the way of Coach Freeze making $5 million a year at another school was the discovery that he wasn't the trustworthy, straight-laced role model that he claimed to be," Patterson wrote, Dodd reports.
