ANN ARBOR -- Video emerged last month of Michigan offensive lineman Grant Newsome running sprints on a football field, the first tangible sign of progress since his gruesome season-ending injury last October.
Newsome suffered a dislocated knee in a game against Wisconsin that left him in the ICU for a 10-day stint and the hospital for more than a month, threatening his life and the long-term viability of his right leg.
These days, things are looking up. Newsome continues to rehab the knee behind closed doors and is currently on track to return to practice in December, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh revealed earlier in the week.
