It had to be done. Juwan was struggling with his health, with his players, his staff, and winning games. That was just this past season. In 2021 which doesn't seem that long ago Juwan was the national coach of the year. Now, he is probably headed for an NBA assistant role next season. If he even wants to coach, Juwan made a ton of money in his NBA career and I assume he doesn't need to work and might want to take some time away from the game.
The bottom line is, I don't believe Juwan had the patience for the college game which is changing every year.
