Michigan men's basketball team adds a new staff member

ANN ARBOR -- For the second time in as many years, the Ann Arbor Huron High boys' varsity basketball team has lost its coach to the University of Michigan men's hoops program.

U-M announced Tuesday, via Twitter, that Jay Shunnar is the team's new graduate manager. Shunnar has coached Huron the past two years.

Shunnar, 28, is an Ann Arbor native who graduated from Huron and played three years of college basketball at Toledo before transferring to Michigan to finish his degree.

The graduate manager position at Michigan is a two-year appointment. Shunnar will take master's courses while working with the Wolverines.
