Michigan legend Red Berenson part of U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame class

Red Berenson is slated for induction into a Hall of Fame.

Again.

Berenson, the legendary former Michigan hockey coach, will be inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame on Dec. 12 in Nashville, Tenn. Ex-Boston Bruins star Hago Harrington, referee Paul Stewart, former U.S. Women's National Team captain Natalie Darwitz and Nashville Predators general manager David Poile also are part of the 2018 class.

USA Hockey announced the news on Thursday.

Berenson, 78, spent 33 years as Michigan's hockey coach, leading the Wolverines to 22 straight NCAA tournaments from 1991-2012 — the longest streak in NCAA hockey history.
