ANN ARBOR -- A member of Michigan's deep linebacking corps has departed the program.

Redshirt freshman Drew Singleton has opted to transfer from Michigan, team spokesman Dave Ablauf confirmed to MLive on Wednesday.

Singleton's transfer was first reported by The Michigan Insider.

The 6-foot-2, 219-pound Singleton appeared in seven games during the 2018 season, primarily on special teams. He was involved in the weak-side linebacker competition in spring, but was edged out for playing time by Devin Gil and Josh Ross.

Singleton redshirted his freshman season in 2017, after coming to Michigan from Paramus Catholic High School.
