Way back in 1993, Tim Drevno was low-paid rookie assistant at Montana State who double-dipped as an American Legion Baseball groundskeeper.
Making $12,000 per year and living with his wife, Shannon, in student housing, Drevno had an opportunity to supplement his meager income by push-mowing baseball fields during the summer.
And one day under the 90-degree Montana sun, Drevno learned a lesson that eventually carried over into his coaching philosophy.
"I didn't have any water but there was a water well, a water pump, out back," Michigan's third-year offensive coordinator recalled Wednesday.
