One of the highest-rated prospects in the country, Vilain came to Michigan last summer as the No. 5-ranked weakside defensive end prospect by 247Sports Composite rankings.
At 6-foot-4, 242 pounds, Vilain was physically ready to compete and make an impact for the Wolverines in what was an already impressive defensive front.
