Michigan football will begin spring practices on Monday

Michigan football will begin spring practices Monday, a program spokesperson confirmed with the Free Press on Tuesday afternoon.

The start date is earlier than in previous years. In 2020, the Wolverines were scheduled to begin spring practices on March 17, although they were all canceled due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. In 2019, U-M's first spring practice took place on March 18.

Michigan will be able to have 15 total spring practices. Currently, there is no anticipated end date for spring football. The Wolverines did not say whether there are plans to conclude the spring period with a scrimmage at Michigan Stadium, as has been the case in years past.
