Michigan Football: What JD Johnson retirement means for 2020

Sometimes, unfortunate things happen and there’s nothing you can do about it. Something like that happened with JD Johnson, who announced on Twitter Wednesday that his Michigan football career is over before it started.

Johnson, a four-star commit from the 2020 class who is the lone quarterback commitment for the Wolverines in 2020, has been highly touted, despite starting out as just a three-star according to 247 sports.

Johnson used to sit behind five-star signal-caller Spencer Rattler, however, once Rattler suffered an injury, Johnson shined and started getting attention. But then this news came via Johnson’s Twitter account:

Basically, Johnson was diagnosed with a disease and playing football could jeopardize his health.
