Michigan Football: Takeaways From Win Over Northwestern

Saturday’s game against Northwestern was supposed to be a slog for Michigan football. It was supposed to be a low-scoring, defensive battle between two of the nation’s best defensive units. Maybe one team would score a touchdown, but the game would likely be decided by field goals as the two teams battle for field position.

Michigan turned what was supposed to be a slog into an absolute blowout of the No. 13 Northwestern Wildcats, winning 38-0. The Wolverines started off with a bang, as Jehu Chesson returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown on a beautiful 96-yard run.
