A few months ago, Michigan's running back situation was a complete mystery.
The Wolverines graduated Karan Higdon, their first 1,000-yard rusher since 2011. They lost his backup, Chris Evans, to academic issues. Highly touted freshman Zach Charbonnet missed all of spring practice recovering from knee surgery, and Christian Turner sat out most of it with an injured hamstring.
The result: a notable lack of depth when Michigan opened spring practices to the public.
