Michigan football promotes Ed Warinner to offensive line coach

ANN ARBOR -- Michigan made official on Thursday the promotion of Ed Warinner, the ex-Minnesota coach hired in January to serve as an offensive analyst.

Warinner joins the Michigan football coaching staff and will be in charge of the offensive line.

The move was anticipated, and reported weeks ago, after offensive coordinator Tim Drevno, who doubled as Michigan's offensive line coach, resigned from his post.

Drevno has since taken a job coaching the running backs at the University of Southern California. Warinner, meanwhile, seems to be situated in his role already.

Shortly after Drevno's departure, Warinner changed his Twitter profile to read: "Offensive Line Coach, University of Michigan.
