Michigan (7-1, 5-0 Big Ten) debuted at No. 5 in the playoff committee's first rankings of 2018 on Tuesday night. This far out, these rankings mean very little. So much changes week-to-week in college football, and if history is any guide, the committee's opinion of each team will change right along with it.
