Michigan football DC Jesse Minter's goal of NFL-style secondary is a tall task — literally

During a recent appearance on an athletic department podcast, Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh shared a story about Makari Paige, a safety who was a four-star recruit out of West Bloomfield.

Paige graduated high school early and enrolled at U-M in January 2020 to participate in spring practices. At 6 feet 3 and with arms that seemed to reach his knees, Paige looked the part of a collegiate or NFL safety. He sparkled enough in those early workouts for Harbaugh to make a proclamation about his future.
