Michigan football commitments thrown for a loss by California's season delay

Earlier this week, Cristian Dixon concluded that his playing days at California prep football power Mater Dei were over.

It was the most disappointing three-and-out the 2021 Michigan footballcommitment has experienced in his young life.

Dixon, referencing his high school’s nickname, called himself a “Monarch for life.”

But after Monday's announcement by the California Interscholastic Federation of the postponement of fall sports until at least December, the four-star receiver understood he would never again wear that moniker on Friday nights.
