ORLANDO, Fla. — Michigan football had a chance to change perception with a win against a college football superpower.
But Alabama's NFL-ready talent was too difficult to overcome, and the Wolverines' offense eventually went cold in Wednesday's 35-16 loss in the Citrus Bowl.
Michigan was the underdog, up against an Alabama team replete with NFL talent. Few gave the Wolverines a chance to beat the Crimson Tide. Yet they held a 16-14 halftime lead and trailed by just five points entering the fourth quarter.
