Michigan football's open spring practice on April 18, as well as the annual Big House 5K scheduled for April 19, have been canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The cancellation is only one of several precautionary steps taken by the athletic department in response to COVID-19.
The university released a statement on Wednesday regarding several measures that will be enacted from March 12 through "at least the end of Winter Term classes on April 21.
