One of the biggest reasons why Michigan football has been unable to compete with Ohio State has been the quarterback position.
Since Jim Harbaugh has arrived, even though things have improved, Michigan football has consistently been behind at the game’s most important position and that was true again with Justin Fields and Shea Patterson in 2019.
Of course, the Wolverines have some good, young quarterbacks on their roster with Dylan McCaffrey, Joe Milton and Cade McNamara. Yet, U-M doesn’t have a QB in the 2020 class right now because of JD Johnson having to retire.
