Michigan escaped a wild one at Wrigley. The No. 18 Wolverines moved to 8-2 on Saturday with a 24-22 win over Northwestern on a walk-off field goal from All-American kicker Dominic Zvada. While the win keeps Michigan’s College Football Playoff hopes alive, there are plenty of Wolverines fans who are hoping for a new head coach after watching a fourth-quarter disaster.
After taking a 21-9 lead in the waning moments of the third quarter on a one-yard rush from running back Jordan Marshall, Michigan turned the ball over on three consecutive drives in the fourth quarter, allowing 14 unanswered points before freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood was able to drive the Wolverines into field goal range on the game’s final possession.
