Michigan drops series finale to Rutgers

The Michigan Wolverines left the winning run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning again on Sunday. For the second day in a row, they were unable to secure a comeback victory.

Michigan fell to 19-9 on the season in a 3-2 loss to Rutgers (14-13) on Sunday afternoon in Ann Arbor. It was a game full of frustration and missed opportunities for the Wolverines.

Michigan’s first hit did not come until the seventh inning, which spoke to the day that Rutgers starter Brent Teller had on the mound. He finished the afternoon with eight strikeouts and two hits allowed in 7.
