Michigan crushes Texas A&M, advances to Elite 8

The Wolverines advanced past the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament despite suffering from lackluster offensive performances. That wasn’t a problem in Thursday evening’s Sweet 16 matchup with Texas A&M. Michigan came out on fire from long range early, quickly pulling away and cruising to a 99-72 victory.

The Wolverines made 14 three pointers, tied for the second most in program history in the tournament, with eight players hitting at least one from beyond the arc, setting a new U-M record.

Draining shots early and often while forcing turnovers on the defensive end, Michigan pulled ahead by as many as 29 points in the first half, holding off any major runs from the Aggies after the break.
