Michigan commit's gem propels Woodhaven baseball past Grand Ledge in state quarters

CHELSEA -- Brownstown Woodhaven baseball coach Corey Farner knows his team usually doesn't need to score many runs to win when Drew Szczepaniak or Colin Czajowski are on the mound.

The Warriors needed just one run on Tuesday to continue their best season in program history.

Czajowski, a junior left-hander committed to Michigan, allowed just three hits in seven scoreless innings before junior Kyle Ray delivered a walk-off single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Grand Ledge 1-0 in a Division 1 state quarterfinal at Chelsea.

Woodhaven (33-5), which has won district and regional titles for the first time this season, advances to face Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice on Saturday at Michigan State.
