Michigan basketball's defense 'shut off that water' to beat Florida

DES MOINES, Iowa — “We were just trying to shut that water off,” Michigan basketball center Jon Teske said.

“We wanted to shut off their water,” guard Charles Matthews said.

Shut the water off?

Whatever you call the defense U-M played in its 64-49 victory over Florida on Saturday in the NCAA tournament’s second round, it was suffocating.

Shut off their water? What does that mean? And is that going on a maize and blue T-shirt soon?
