Michigan basketball up to 6th, Michigan State down to 11th in AP Top 25

The two major college basketball programs in the state went in opposite directions in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday afternoon.

Michigan basketball jumped up one spot to sixth in the voting. Michigan State basketball slipped down two spots, from ninth to 11th.

U-M (22-2, 11-2 Big Ten) sits atop the Big Ten standing after last week's wins at Rutgers and against Wisconsin. The Wolverines visit Penn State on Tuesday (8:30 p.m., BTN) and host Maryland on Saturday (noon, Fox).
