Even after a missed shot, Geo Baker and Caleb McConnell couldn’t help but laugh.
The crowd at Jersey Mike’s Arena rose to its feet, anticipating the final seconds tick away near the end of another home win for Rutgers over a nationally recognized brand. Ron Harper Jr. shook his defender with a crossover and kicked left to Baker, whose pump fake sent another Michigan basketball player flying in the wrong direction. And even though Baker’s perimeter shot misfired, he shared a chuckle with his teammate after the ball caromed out of bounds.
It must have felt like the only time he missed Tuesday night.
