Moritz Wagner had a lot to say during a phone call with John Beilein this past August.
The former Michigan men's basketball standout and first-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Lakers was talking to Beilein ahead of the U-M coach’s double-bypass heart surgery, and was concerned about Beilein’s health. So he tried to give his former coach some words of encouragement.
“There’s just so much you can say, but I told him he should take his time, rest up, don’t rush back, take care of himself primarily right now because that’s the most important thing in that situation,” Wagner told the Free Press on Thursday.
