Michigan basketball landed its first player in the 2021 recruiting class Wednesday, when four-star wing Isaiah Barnes picked U-M on Twitter.

Barnes, who attended Oak Park (Ill.) River Forest High School and will play at Chicago Simeon as a senior, is the nation's No. 106 overall prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is the No. 26 small forward and the No. 5 prospect in Illinois.

“His arrow definitely is pointing up," said Joe Henricksen, who covers Illinois high school basketball for the Chicago Sun-Times.
