Few Michigan basketball fans paid attention Wednesday when Jalen Wilson announced he was committing to Kansas Wednesday, because the writing was on the wall.
Despite Wilson expressing excitement after Michigan basketball hired Juwan Howard as head coach, the four-star prospect from Denton, Texas, never met with UM’s new head coach, leaving the Wolverines with no hope of landing him heading into Wednesday.
As recently as last week, it was being reported that Howard had contacted Wilson’s mother and set up an in-home visit, something only Howard could do because Wilson was previously signed with UM before getting released from his scholarship.
