When Juwan Howard took over as Michigan basketball coach, it was no secret that his NBA experience would influence his offensive approach.

Friday night’s 82-51 exhibition win over Saginaw Valley State was the first look at what that offense might look like. While the Wolverines’ pace and shot selection seemingly took on a whole new look, one aspect remained the same: Michigan’s offense is in Zavier Simpson’s hands.

The senior point guard dished out 11 assists in the Wolverines’ victory, most of which came in transition. Under his command, Michigan raced out to a 21-8 lead.
