As other athletic departments have weathered a stream of novel coronavirus cases, members of the University of Michigan football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball teams have largely been unaffected since they returned to campus for voluntary workouts in mid-June.

The latest round of tests administered to 89 student-athletes, coaches and staff members on Monday all came back negative, according to a report issued by the school Thursday.

So far, U-M athletics has checked 322 individuals to determine if they have COVID-19 and only two have returned positive results.
