Matthews declares for NBA Draft without hiring agent

A year ago, both D.J. Wilson and Moritz Wagner went through this same process, with Wilson ultimately deciding to go pro and Wagner returning for one more seasons.

“After careful consideration with my parents and coaching staff, I am excited to announce that I will be declaring for the 2018 NBA Draft without hiring an agent,” said Matthews in a released statement. “I give thanks to the Lord for this amazing opportunity, as well as the entire University of Michigan for their support. Go Blue!”

As a redshirt sophomore guard last season, Matthews was the Wolverines’ second highest scorer, averaging 13 points per game.
