Mason Graham waited with Will Johnson through Day 1 NFL Draft slide

Michigan made a massive statement on the 2025 NFL Draft stage — but the first night didn’t go exactly how many had expected for one of the Wolverines’ biggest stars.

Defensive tackle Mason Graham became the highest-drafted defensive tackle in University of Michigan history, going No. 5 overall to the Cleveland Browns. But even after realizing his lifelong dream and completing a whirlwind of interviews and celebrations, Graham’s mind stayed with teammate Will Johnson.

Johnson, once projected as a top-10 pick and first-round lock, slid out of the first round Thursday night due to concerns over injuries.
