Martin Selected by Carolina in Second Round of NHL Draft

CHICAGO, Ill. -- University of Michigan ice hockey rising sophomore defenseman Luke Martin was selected in the 2nd round (52nd overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft on Saturday afternoon (June 24). Along with fellow draftee Josh Norris, who was taken in the first round Friday night, Michigan has had 67 players taken in the NHL Draft in program history. U-M will enter the 2017-18 season with nine drafted players on its roster.

A St. Louis, Missouri, native, Martin played in all 35 games for the Wolverines in his first season.
