ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Tyler Motte, the University of Michigan ice hockey team's high-scoring right wing, said his No. 1 influence in becoming a hockey player was his brother, C.J.
"My brother got me into it at a young age," said Motte, whose Wolverines begin their defense of the 2014 Great Lakes Invitational championship Tuesday (Dec. 29) in Detroit against Northern Michigan. "I just wanted to follow in his footsteps. I wanted to be like my older brother, and that helped."
He also credited several youth league coaches for developing him as a player and person, but his brother has been in his corner all the way.
