CINCINNATI, Ohio -- It was the little things that Michigan did to reach overtime that allowed it to beat Notre Dame in the extra session on a goal by Tyler Motte off a pass that JT Compher somehow got through defenders with a back-hander.

It was Wolverine head coach Red Berenson pulling defenseman Zach Werenski aside to point out something that seemed small at the time but amazed both coach and player in that it actually led to Werenski's game-tying goal at 9:52 of the third period.
