Just over five years ago, then-Michigan footballcoach Brady Hoke was forced to apologize to Michigan State.
Hoke, in his fourth (and soon-to-be final) season as head coach, released a statement in which he publicly apologized to Mark Dantonio and the Spartans for an "act of poor sportsmanship displayed pregame."
The act: A tent stake planted midfield at Spartan Stadium before the game on Oct. 25, 2014.
The score of that game: Michigan State 35, Michigan 11.
