OMAHA, Neb. — Their final meeting began a minute early, at 3:14 p.m. Central on Wednesday afternoon, when a Michigan baseball staffer closed the door to the Dodge Ballroom on the second floor of the downtown Omaha Marriott, exactly an hour and 47 minutes earlier than their team meetings throughout the season.

That time, 5:01, had a purpose — attention to detail — and was the last Bakich-ism on the back of the Wolverines’ blue workout shirts, at the bottom of an inverted pyramid, right below “LFG.
