Mallett was part of Lloyd Carr’s last recruiting class. He finished 61-for-141 for 892 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions while filling in for an injured Chad Henne as a freshman but transferred in 2008 after Rich Rodriguez was hired and brought in his spread offense. Mallett went on to throw for 7,493 yards and 62 touchdowns in two seasons at Arkansas, finished seventh in the 2010 Heisman Trophy voting and was a third-round pick (No. 74 overall) by the New England Patriots in 2011.
