When Mike Smith was a child growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, he attended Juwan Howard's basketball camp.
At some point, Smith had the chance to take a picture with Howard. He walked up to the 6-foot-9 NBA veteran and asked: "Man, are you ever going to coach?"
All these years later, and Howard is a head coach. About a month ago, he reached out to Smith. This time, Howard was the one asking a question: Do you want to play for Michigan?
