Michigan football's normally soft-spoken quarterback set the tone Tuesday night.

The Wolverines understand that they haven't played their best football this season. And they're hoping they can change that Saturday in a showdown at No. 14 Wisconsin.

"We’re looking to go out there and make a statement," Shea Patterson said. "It’s as simple as that."

Of the players who spoke with reporters Tuesday night, several appeared to have more of an edge than usual.
