Michigan interim athletic director Jim Hackett, who wooed Jim Harbaugh to Ann Arbor to coach his alma mater and who negotiated a deal with Nike, has decided to move on and Michigan is searching for a permanent athletic director.
Harbaugh isn't ready for Hackett to move on, though.
"The relationship has been A-plus-plus," Harbaugh said. "I still want to talk him into staying. Going to keep giving that a shot. It's been outstanding working with Jim. He's done some marvelous things. He's been a friend. He's been really good to this university. Still lobbying for him to stay.
