Four Incoming Freshmen Taken on Second Day of NHL Draft

SUNRISE, Fla. -- Four incoming University of Michigan ice hockey freshman were selected in the NHL Draft today (June 27) at BB&T Center, home of the Florida Panthers. Forwards Cooper Marody (Philadelphia Flyers, 158th overall, 6th round) and Brendan Warren (Arizona Coyotes, 81st overall, 3rd round), as well as defensemen Nicholas Boka (Minnesota Wild, 171st overall, 6th round) and Joe Cecconi (Dallas Stars, 133rd overall, 5th round) were picked. Michigan enters the 2015-16 season with 12 drafted players on its roster.

With the 2015 NHL Draft completed, the Wolverines had six total selections including first round picks Zach Werenski (Columbus Blue Jackets, 8th overall), and Kyle Connor (Winnipeg Jets, 17th overall) yesterday, the most U-M players taken in one draft since 2007 (7).
