Former Heisman winner Charles Woodson still same man from Michigan — but all grown up

Detroit — Charles Woodson is standing in an alley, across the street from a Detroit hotel that he checked into minutes prior and won’t be in town long enough to even stay the night at.

One by one, heads start to turn. They linger. You can’t hear whispering from across the way, but body language — the way the bystanders talk to each other from the sides of their mouths in order to keep their eyes focused on what’s in front of them — is speaking volumes.

That’s Charles Woodson.

It’s been so long since Woodson, 45, has visited Detroit that he can’t even recall when the last time was; he just knows it was pre-pandemic.
