Just a few days after 2020 four-star guard Moses Moody committed to Arkansas, another top target for Michigan at the guard position is heading elsewhere, as five-star Nimari Burnett has committed to Texas Tech.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder from Chicago was down to Michigan, Texas Tech, Oregon and Alabama when he made his decision Tuesday afternoon. He is the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2020 class, per 247Sports’ composite.
Seeing Burnett commit to Texas Tech is a big disappointment. Juwan Howard has known Burnett and his family since Burnett was a young kid, so to see that relationship not benefit the Wolverines is a letdown.
