First College Football Playoff rankings of season released, Michigan at No. 14

The College Football Playoff committee released their first rankings tonight with the Ohio State Buckeyes listed as the No. 1 team in the country. They were followed by No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Alabama and No. 4 Penn State. The second and third-ranked teams in the country meet this weekend.

Clemson and Georgia were ranked No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

Michigan is at a familiar spot that also is where they are ranked in the AP poll.
