In a sometimes raw and emotional six-hour-plus deposition, former University of Michigan football player Chuck Christian detailed his sexual assault by former U-M football team doctor Robert Anderson, the impact on his life and whether Christian's famed coach Bo Schembechler knew about the assaults.
The deposition from Sept. 2020 is the first known recounting under oath of an Anderson survivor to be seen by the public. Hundreds of people — mostly male athletes — are suing the university claiming Anderson sexually assaulted them over his decades-long career under the guise of medical treatment. The Free Press obtained a transcription and a video clip of the deposition, which was conducted remotely, from people close to the litigation.
